Welcome to the new home of Author & Professional Speaker, L. Diane Wolfe (AKA "Spunk on a Stick") and The Circle of Friends!

The Circle of Friends series follows a group of young adults as they face different challenges and learn to overcome. The emotionally gripping stories focus on love, friendships and the pursuit of dreams. Aimed at adults/young adults, these books defy the growing trend of salacious titles, especially for teenagers. Positive and uplifting, this series will leave readers determined to overcome their obstacles and achieve their goals.

Extra Time to Write

I was supposed to teach a seminar on goal-setting today, but it was cancelled. Summer speaking engagements are hit & miss. People are on vacation and traveling. In my neck of the woods, no one wants to go out in the heat. I know I don't! Next week's seminar will make up for it, because every summer I go down to Wilmington, there are more and more people attending.

What this WILL give me is more time to write! Sorry, it's not another book in The Circle of Friends series, but a non-fiction book about publishing & promoting. (It ties in with two of my seminars.) I've been writing at a pace of two chapters a day, but today I'm aiming for four!

Where are you at in your writing?

Your non-fiction book sounds like a great idea. Good luck with it, Diane!
I'm chugging along on my edits for Forever Young-Blessing or Curse, hoping to get it up on Kindle by August, cross my fingers!

Hope you enjoyed your extra time to write! :) Your non-fiction book sounds very informative. And FOUR chapters a day? That's an amazing pace. Good luck and have a great weekend!

That's a great idea for a book by the Spunkster! Go for it!

Hey thanks for the referral - Billy Lonas - he contacted me and hired me as his editor on his (quite charming!) children's book. Gracias, mi amiga!

Thanks, Morgan.

Julie, they're not real long, so it's more impressive than is sounds.

Marvin, that's wonderful!!

That's great that is a lot of writing. I try to get a chapter a day done but generally end up with a chapter a week. Although in my defense I am writing my thesis as well.

Josh, I can imagine the thesis slows you down a bit!

Blessing in disguise, I guess?

I'm getting back to revisions as of tonight. Or that's my plan anyway ;)

I'm on my edits on Forever Young - Blessing or Curse from my editor, Helen Ginger.

It's slow going, because I'm looking at every word to see if it really belongs.

Stephanie, that's a lot of time!

I'm happy to report I'm almost to the halfway point.

Your book sounds like something good, I'm new at this writing thing and need all the help I can get, consider me the first buyer.

Looking forward to your book, Diane. I hope it's available at Book 'Em North Carolina next February!

I am heading into the final third of my 13th book, Vicki's Key, a suspense/thriller. It's the first book in a new series, and I'm finding a series gives me a lot more time to present three dimensional characters with a lot of backstory and depth.

I'm currently editing and trying to write my cosy mystery. But, I would love to read your book about publishing and promoting.
